My thoughts on E3 - Microsoft Edition!

So E3 was last weekend and like most fans, I had my moments of "OMGICAN'TBELIEVETHATIS FINALLYCOMINGOUT" to "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?"

Like most people, my "what are you thinking?" was directed to Microsoft.

I do like the 360 and did play it quite a bit but as soon as we got a PS3, it hasn't been used. You have to pay to use the internet features on the 360 - Youtube, Netflix, etc. You need to pay to be able to play online with your friends. You don't need that on the Playstation. It's all free.

Since most of the games we wanted were released on both systems, we would go directly to PS3. I did buy the Special Edition Marvel vs Capcom 3 on the 360 but when Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 came out, we bought it on the PS3.

I wasn't able to watch the live streaming of MS because I was at work and every single gaming website is blocked but once the information hit the internet, I was shocked with what I heard.

You are allowed to lend your game out once to a friend and after that the disc is voided. I'm sorry what? That is not reasonable at all. It's one thing to promote a game to your friend, word of mouth but you should be able to hand the game and let them see what they are missing. If it weren't for that, there would be a lot of games I would of not bought. Trailers sometimes just don't do it for me or they are cut so wrong that it has nothing to do with the game. (I'm looking at you boob trailers.) I understand that they want to cut out the used video game market (Gamestop) but I personally think this will blow up.

I rarely ever buy new games. I only pre-order if some extra goodies are being offered. Lollipop Chainsaw - The Ash skin but when I picked it up a week later it was 20 dollars off. ALIENS Colonial Marines - The Powerloader figurine was the biggest draw. I love ALIENS so fuck yes I was going to get that. Adventure Time Hey Ice King - THE ENTIRE SPECIAL EDITION box set but sadly, they over sold and I didn't get it.

Otherwise, I just wait. I may be behind on gaming but it is nice to my wallet! I'll just wait for the stores to drop the prices or they hit game of the year. I got both Little Big Planet 2 and Arkham Asylum for 20 dollars each. I just got LEGO Batman 2 on 3DS for $9.99. Yes it was released a year ago but do you get my drift? All of these have been bought new, not used.

But yes, I do sometimes buy used game. I will put that out there.

The 24 hour check in or your game goes away? What is that all about? I was hoping that was not true. My twitter feed blew up about the check in feature. I had to research to see if it was true. It was. The Xbox One must check into the internet at least once every 24 hours or the games are rendered useless.

WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT?

When I went back to school full time, I could barely check into my Animal Crossing Village everyday! All those cockroaches I had to kill and neighbor's that were mad at me. I can't keep reminding myself to check in. Am I going to call my boyfriend and ask him to check in? I should be allowed to play offline for as long as I want. I hate playing online most of the time and hardly connect unless someone asks me too. Otherwise, I am just offline. I shouldn't have to be forced to get online to check in so I can play my games. Once I get my games, I should be able to stay offline and enjoy it.

And what happens in 5,10, or even 15 years down the road and MS comes out with a whole new system? Are all those XBOX one games going to be useless if it's servers go away to make way for the next gen of gaming?

In the end, I was not excited for this system at all. I can't even remember what games they announced for it as I was shocked with these two features they added. I don't think I will be getting the XBOX ONE. I'll continue with my 360 and the few games we do have.

$500.00 is also too much for me to spend on a gaming system so even if I did like everything that it was offering, I'm not buying it anytime soon.

Playstation 4 and Wii U thought will be posted soon!
