DIY: From White to Purple!!

I had found this wall cabinet at Goodwill for 5 bucks. It was white but it random marks all over it. I bought it hoping I could possibly paint it. I went to ACE hardware and one of the employees told me that Krylon now has an all purpose spray with primer and just sand it down before hand.

So on Saturday I did that outside in the hallway of my apt and then sprayed it purple in the basement!

I lost all my in progress photos but here it is once done and dried! This is the second time I have ever used spray paint and I really need a lot of work controlling my movements which in short means spray farther away and don't shake & spray!

Here's the inside. You can see the dried streaks in the bottom. Again, I just didn't spray far enough away and also I should of left it on it's back when drying and not standing.

So what is my plan for it?

It will be for my My Little Pony toys!! The newest bodies are too larger for it like the SDCC exclusives I've been collecting but all the other generations and blind bags fit.

I need to work on my spraying techniques and not leave the painter's tape on too long. When I peeled it off, it took some of the paint with it! I love it so much now even with it's flaws!

  1. That turned out great! I love the color and I'm jealous of all your ponies.

    1. Thank you! I can't wait to do more spray painting! I actually found a bag full of My Little Ponies at a local thrift store. I was beyoned stoke!

  2. OH MY GOD, a Little Pony collection! That's so awesome.

    I'm in love. ♥
