The Walt Disney Family Museum.

We finally got the chance to visit  The Walt Disney Family Museum. It opened in the Presidio in 2009 and for whatever reason, we just never made it until now.

They were having the Camille Rose Garcia "Down the Rabbit Hole" exhibit and me being the huge Alice in Wonderland fan that I am made time to go!

The museum was amazing! It was not what I was expecting. I thought it would be a bit smaller but it is huge and has so much to see and discover. We are a Disney family so to see a lot of this history, the past, the things that we remember (PEOPLE MOVER!!) was such a treat.

I got to learn about Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and the story about him losing the character and Mickey Mouse being born. The stories about movie making. I didn't know that Bambi was started first but was delayed so much that Pinocchio came out as their second film or how Dumbo and Fantasia bombed in the box office. They also have a small in house theater and every month they play different things. This month we saw an episode of Disneyland '59! Such a treat!

Did you know that the employees went on strike in the 40s?

It was definitely an experience and I will be sure to visit again. I'll leave some with some pictures that I took. There is a ton more but I don't want to spoil it. If you are visiting San Francisco, you should check it out. You'll get a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge as well.

I was so excited to see the art work of Song of the South!!
