Video Games Live!

I'm back in business! I was able to get a new laptop and I've been playing with it for the last couple days. I've been using Windows 7 and it's no longer be sent with the newest computers so I had to get Windows 8. It's been taking some getting use to. I did get a touchscreen laptop to help with the app/start menu. My only annoyance is the swiping all the way on the track pad switches my screens to what other apps I have open.

Anyways, on to the post!

I went to Video Games Live on Thursday! It was my first time and it was so amazing! It was at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. I got there and the first thing I hit was the gift shop to find items from the show. I picked up a t-shirt and a postcard of the building. I collect postcards and love sending them.

I found a couple of cosplayers and they were happy to pose for me to take pictures. There was Carmen San Diego, Donkey Kong, and Ralph. There were more cosplayers because they were having a costume contest. Carmen SanDiego won!

The Symphony started with a montage of video games to the TRON soundtrack and it goes right into the music. They performed music from games not yet released like Destiny and Assassins Creed 4. They also had classics like Legend of Zelda and Mario. I love, love listening to the music and seeing the game scenes on the big screen. I wish I could remember the order of the music but I didn't write it down.

During the first part, they asked 4 members of the audience to come up on stage and battle each other in Super Smash Bros! OH MY GOD!! And the Symphony played the music!!! Why was I on the second tier?

Journey soundtrack was the first game to win a Grammy! Or get a nom. I forgot which one!

The podium was a joystick! How cool is that!!
