Disney Parks

Tomorrow starting at about 9ish, I will be at Disneyland and will be there until 6am Saturday morning. Why yes, I am insane! It's Disney's 24 hour madness and this will be the first time I get to go! Well, hopefully get in, I'm terrified I will get there and the park is at capacity.

With the 24 hour Disneyland adventure and then WDW next month, I felt like going down memory lane and share with you my first visits to the different Disney parks!

First trip to Disneyland - Summer 1980 something. A tiny Usagi and my little brother!

I don't remember when this trip was or how old I was but this was the first trip ever. My Mother made the mistake by taking us and with that she created a MONSTER! The only memory I have from that trip is being scared on the Matterhorn Bobsleds. It's my favorite ride to this day though I am sad they changed out the sleds so it's only a single person and I get terrible headaches after the ride. Bah!

First trip to Tokyo Disneyland - August 2006

OMG!! I love this tiny park. It's got nothing on Disneyland but I love, love, love it!! It's so cute and there are cuter and better items for sale. I had to restrain myself from buying everything. My favorite ride was Splash Mountain. It was all in Japanese!! Most of the other rides were in English but not Splash Mountain. Even the songs were sung in Japanese.

First trip to Walt Disney World - October 2010

People make fun of me that I went to Tokyo Disneyland before Walt Disney World since I live in the same country. Oh well! It took me this long to get here but I finally did! My favorite ride is located in Disney's Animal Kingdom and it's Expedition Everest. It's a roller coaster that goes through a mountain and it goes both forward & backwards! So awesome!!

First trip to Disneyland Paris - November 2013

I finally got to see it last year and it was beautiful! It is smaller as well but so much went into it. It's really different and just beautiful. Their haunted mansion, known as Phantom Manor is just amazing and I love it better then the other ones. It's so gorgeous that I want to move in and live there. My favorite ride though is a toss up between Crush's Coaster and Indian Jones et le Temple du Peril (Temple of Peril.) The Indy ride is a roller coaster ride in a mining train through the temple with a loop! AHHH! SO.MUCH.FUN!! Crush's Coaster is a roller coaster style ride through the EAC in a shell and it spins you around while going through the track.

I still have yet to visit Disneyland Hong Kong and they are opening a new park in Shanghai. I read that there will be an Iron Man ride at Disneyland Hong Kong so I may make the trip out there once it opens. I can't wait!

So how about you? Which parks have you been to? Which rides are your favorite? What is the thing you must do when you are at the parks? We need to make sure we get Dole Whip when we are at Disneyland even if it's raining!

Thanks for reading and joining me down memory lane. Have a great weekend!

  1. That's so awesome you're going - I'm dying to go to Disneyland! Went to Universal Studios last year, but couldn't fit in Disneyland too, so maybe next year. Have fun!!!

  2. I've only been to Disneyland, but I'd like to visit Disneyland Tokyo. And I'd like to visit Disney World too, thanks to all those shows on TGIF when they made their obligatory DW trips :) Every time I go to Disneyland, I visit Esmeralda for my fortune card and get a frozen banana!

  3. I have total Disney envy. I've never been! I'm always afraid a trip to any of the parks would be super expensive. When I'm ready to plan a trip, I'm totally going to bug you for any advice you have for a Disney noob!

  4. I've only been to Disneyland and Disneyworld! I want to go to Tokyo Disneyland though!
