Small Goals {JANUARY 2016}

It is currently 9:07am PST New Year's Eve. Usually I would be sitting around typing up New Years Resolutions that would never, ever see beyond the paper I wrote them on. I'm overly ambitious and I seriously think that "this will be the year!" that I will do these major things.

Even though I was lazy with my blog this month I still kept up with my fellow geeks. A few people started creating these small goals posts. There was a list of maybe 5 things they wanted to accomplish for the month. They were all simple things like finish a book or revamp a post.

If you want to know more check out these blog posts from Mia, Liz, and Gwen.

So I decided to take a post from their blog and instead of creating these huge resolutions that will scare me, I'm going to be creating my own small monthly goals as well.

January Goals:
Read one book I had a yearly goal for 2015 for reading 50 books and that totally failed. I also have three books I started and never finished. My goal is to pick one of those unfinished books and read it in January. If I get to two, that would be awesome.

Blog at least once a week I think I ran out of steam this month and I hate editing photos. I do have three posts in drafts but I just didn't want to edit a thing. So let me start fresh and go with at least one post a week this month.

Do an unboxing video I love watching unboxing videos and I have been wanting to make one of my own. I've been sitting on my December Smuggler Bounty, Collector Corps, and Loot Crate boxes. It just gets dark at 5pm (when I'm out of work) and I don't have nice background space. I just need to get over that and do it! So my goal is to get one video out there in YouTube land this month.

Run at least twice a week I signed up for the Star Wars 5K marathon in June. It's happening in January and I started training really, really late. I've been told that I can also walk during the 5K if needed and since I am a walker, I think I will be ok. I want to keep running even after the marathon. I don't exercise for anything and I haven't ran since high school so I want to keep going. Heck, maybe I will sign up for the Avengers marathon later in the year!

Start putting money into a savings account This is not because I'm going to have a savings account ( I do), it's because I majorly screwed up and I got myself into a mini debt. I call it a mini debt because I can swim myself out of it if only I just saved and STOP SPENDING. I've been selling clothing on Poshmark and Mercari (SORRY BUT I AM PLUGGING!! Sign up with poshmark using BLGIR and we both will get $10 bucks or sign up with Mercari using UKGBZD and we both get 2 bucks!) but instead of setting it aside to pay off my credit card I'll buy something else. Oh, I sold a bunch of collectibles let me finally get that Wii U. I sold 8 shirts this month, they will cover my Hot Toys monthly payment. If I toss in at least 50-100 a paycheck, I can send one large lump sum at the end of the month along with the monthly payment. This way every month I have an account that will be used to pay off that mini debt. Hoping to get out of it by the summer.

These are my monthly small goals! I feel pretty good about typing them out there. They are small and simple. These are doable. Yoosh~!!

Do you guys have small monthly goals? Are you going to create any? Let's cheer each other on!!

Small Monthly Goals posts are inspired by writes like a girl!

Japan Trip: Eat All The Popcorn at Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea

I'm back with another Japan trip post. This time it's about our adventures at Tokyo Disneyland and Disney Sea. I'm going to have a few posts about our Disney trip so be prepared for those.

One of the things we did while at the parks was to try out all their different popcorn flavors. Unlike Disneyland in California, they offer more then just salted buttered popcorn. There was Honey, White Chocolate, Curry, and more. I was also on a mission to buy the Little Green Alien popcorn bucket.

Since they have different flavors all the time, they include the listing on the maps! They tell which ones they have and where you can get them. Both Disneyland and Disney Sea had them listed on their maps and a few of them were only at a certain park.

We didn't try the caramel or salt because they are basic ones we can get out here, I missed the honey both times, and Cappuccino is not our thing.

Jaime thought it would be a cool idea to record our reactions to all the different popcorn flavors and I put it together into one spiffy video. A spiffy video where you get to see us make fools of ourselves. Haha.. and you also get to hear/see Jaime get really into taste testing the popcorn.

We also found the Little Green Men mochi and those were delicious too. Delicious and adorable.

Please check out the video if you want to see our reactions and us acting like fools.

Thanks for reading and watching!

Holiday Wish List

Holiday Wish List

Holiday Wish List by usagimylene

Hey there folks!! Welcome back to another blog episode of Five Fandom Friday. Five Fandom Friday is brought to you by The Nerdy Girlie and SuperSpaceChick with occasional guest stars!

Today's Five Fandom Friday topic is our Holiday Wish List!

1. Ever since I saw the collection at Star Wars celebration, I have been wanting all the shoes. Sadly, I can't wear heels so flats are the way to go for me. The Han and Leia flats are on my wanted list. I've been selling like crazy to get them. I found them in stock at Fun.com and I am hoping to get the money before they sell out.

2. I bought the Alex and Ani Princess Leia and Jack Skellington bangle and I just found out they released even more Star Wars bracelets. I really want the Imperial Crest bangle. They also have the Jedi Order and Alliance Star Bird bangles.

3. Disney and Dooney & Burke have teamed up to release some beautiful bags. I have their Avengers one and I really want this Haunted Mansion tote. I am such a fan of anything Haunted Mansion and I love that high end designers are making geeky bags.

4. I discovered Look Human and I love everything. I have one Sailor Moon and a Oliver Queen sweater. I need more Sailor Moon items in my life and this Moon Princess one is perfect and cute and pink!!!

5. A few fellow bloggers have been holding giveaways for Love and Madness items. They offer sell official Star Wars jewelry and they finally have a Princess Leia necklace. It's cute and I want it. I did want some rings but I don't get along with adjustable which makes me sad. I also want the dancing R2-D2 but the Princess Leia necklace is on the list.

I threw in the Charlie Brown Christmas tree to make my set more festive. Haha...

Are you really surprised about the amount of Star Wars on my list? I go through phases of things I love and right now it's Star Wars. Wait until January and I will be all over anything The X-Files.

What's on your holiday wish list?

Have a great weekend!

My Birthday Wish List

My Birthday Wish List

My Birthday Wish List by usagimylene

Today is my birthday. I turn 36 years old. Thankfully I haven't had unnerving conversations of "When are you getting married?" and "When are you having kids?" My answer is always the same, Never.

But I won't write about that in this post. I'm here to share my Birthday Wish List because why not? I like making them and I love seeing other folks lists. They are fun! Also I think my family reads my blog and a Hot Topic gift card would be wonderful *wink wink*

I have no shame!!

On to the list:

I own the Stark Bomber jacket and I love it so much that I was really excited when they released Star Wars ones and how can you go wrong with a Boba Fett one? I'm not a fan of bright green which he has on his armor  and I'm glad they went with this shade.

I have fallen in love with the Pandora charms but they are very expensive and not geeky enough for me. ThinkGeek released a few inspired charms from Star Wars, Doctor Who, and other! I have a Death Star and a game controller. I really want the lightsaber but I think it's sold out.

3. Han Solo Blaster Necklace - Han Cholo
I saw their collection at Star Wars Celebration and fell in love with all the pieces but sadly, they were completely out of my price range. They are releasing a collection of stainless steel jewelry which is a little bit more within reach. I have a thing for Han Solo's blaster and I would love to have the necklace! It's such an awesome design.

If you haven't noticed by now I am a huge Princess Leia fan. When Her Universe released their Avengers collection, I hope they would do a Star Wars one and release something Leia inspired. They did and I really am hoping this dress will look good on me. Also, I hope I don't ruin it because white and I don't get along.

5. Sailor Moon wallet - Unknown
I'm a huge fan of Sailor Moon and I want all the things. During my trip to Japan finidng things Sailor Moon was really, really hard. Everything was pretty much sold out and things I found in 2nd hand/re sell stores were asking a lot. These wallets were released in collaboration with a designer and only in Japan. They are completely sold out but like always, you can find fakes. I don't want to support fakes but I really want the wallet. Also, originally they were priced at about $300 I think.

6. BB-8 Bomber Jacket - Her Universe
I know nothing about BB-8 yet I love that little droid. I am so glad they released something BB-8 in the collection and it was a bomber jacket. Guys, I never knew I could like grey and orange together.

7. Lana Del Rey Honeymoon Vinyl
I am a huge fan of Lan Del Rey and I need Honeymoon in my vinyl collection. I have Born to Die and Paradise. I didn't really find myself liking Ultraviolence and that's ok. Sometimes you just don't like everything they release but Honeymoon is my favorite album from her so far.

8. Disneyland bangle - Alex and Ani
I was never into Alex and Ani until they started to release Disney bangles. I own the Jack Skellington and Princess Leia ones. Their other items focus on the Princess' which I love but I want items from those lesser seen characters. They did release bracelets based on the parks and I am such a Disneyland girl that I want this one for my collection. They are a tad big on me that I have to be careful not to shake my hand/wrist too much or it will eventually slide off. I'm trying to find a way to make it smaller or find something that will attach to the wires to tighten it a bit.

So there you have it! My wish list! I'm working today and stuck with a cold but I am going to have dinner with friends so yay!! Nothing majorly huge. Jaime is taking me on Friday to see Krampus because a Christmas Horror film, yes please!! Also, we will be celebrating my birthday even more on the 17th! Star Wars marathon day!! All 7 films!! Oh.my.god.

Thanks for reading!!

My Adventures in Crowd Funding

Most of us have backed a project in the last few years. It's amazing that there are such sites as Kickstarter and Indiegogo where we can help make someone's dream come true and get a awesome product that we believe in, a product we need, or in most cases something awesome that just takes up more space.

I have backed a few project and I have had a mix of situations come along with it. I have backed project that kicked butt, updated so much, and in the end delivered when they promised (Espionage Cosmetics). I have backed project where I knew the items would get delivered at a way later date, were good at updating, but lately have been lacking (Bee and Puppycat).

There are a few that promised the items at a certain date but their production have fallen behind, the updates could use some more work (Playroom Entertainment) and I did have one project that completely failed, they admitted it is failing, and refunded us all. (Insta photo project)

But nothing, NOTHING has been so frustrating, so annoying, so draining as the one I backed on Indiegogo. It was a company named Axent Wear and they were creating these obnoxious cat ear headphones. They light up, the ears are speakers, they would come with a gaming mic, It was ridiculous!

And I wanted them.

The project got funded and of course the wait began. I understand, you have to wait for things. The updates were pretty good and communication was fine but they stopped. It stopped for 5 months until they finally made a update to let the backers know there were some delays. Someone posted something about the factory they were going to use in China did not hold the environmental standards one of the "co-founders" wanted so the project was stopped.

6 months ago a update was made that Brookstone was going to take over and make the headphones. Okay, Brookstone stuff can be iffy sometimes but I can get behind it. Four months later they finally posted a prototype of the headphones. They did a few more posts in that month saying they are listening to the backers comments and will change the head phones.

Radio silence until sometime in Oct where they stated they have them ready and will begin shipping. This is where the fuckery began.

They were shipping now through UPS.  I needed to change my shipping address. I was told to e-mail Brookstone directly. A week later I got a reply saying they will ship that day (day of their reply) to my original address (PO BOX) and they will use Priority Mail. I kept asking for a tracking number. Weeks of no response and I still didn't get them. It was getting close to Thanksgiving so I called and the person at customer service couldn't do anything, just kept telling me to email them. I finally got a CS who gave me a tracking number but the only thing listed was a label was created.

By this point, a year of waiting, no real updates, and getting told that only a shipping label was created I called my credit card company and asked for a charge dispute. I explained the situation and they went ahead with it. While I was waiting for my headphones I read the horror stories on Brookstone's facebook page. The lights didn't work, the cords were broken, people needed to buy an audio split-er  to use the gaming mic, people having them for a few days and the speakers blew out, the headphones stopped working etc.

Out of the blue yesterday  a pair of purple headphones arrived through UPS to the address I needed them to go to. Fine. I decided to test them out and see if they even work.

The purple light isn't as bright as I have seen from others but they both glow the same. I'm okay with that. The headphone sound pretty good, like my skullcandy ones so they get a point there. When I turn on the speakers, the music flowing through the headphones stay on but  starts emitting a hissing sound. If I turn on the speakers to the loudest setting they fuzz out. If there is any kind of talking happening, it crackles. Oh and the cord is busted. I have to wiggle it or hold it in my phone jack to listen to the music.

Now do I return the headphones and deal with them again or do I go to amazon to find a new cord and just live with the hissing/cracking noise coming from the speakers? Amazon is looking like the best option. Brookstone is terrible at answering e-mails and I just don't want to wait another month or two for them again. I hate that the speakers don't really work but I can still use the headphones and that's what really matters.

So a year and 2 months later I have my headphones. They are not the greatest but really, lets be honest I got them for the look. Also this experience had thought me a lot and now I'm going to be a bit more cautious when backing things.

I do have a few more back project I am waiting on but I will take a break for a while from searching both kickstarter and other crowd funding sites. They promised these guys in six months since they said they had everything lined up. I understand things happen but the lack of updates and then the lack or information and faulty product from Brookstone, a well known company kinda pushed my buttons.

What has been your experience with backing projects? Have you waited longer then promised? Has anyone ever not gotten anything?

Unearthed From My Closet: May The Force Be With You

I've been having a few months where I'm just not happy with myself. I'll awake up and throw on whatever is near me but I'd also ended up with a zip up hoodie all day. I'd just end up in a half pony tail with visions of chopping off my hair.
It happens and I can usually snap myself out of it but this time, it just wasn't working.

Yesterday though, I had a good day and even though all I did was throw on a sweater, I was actually happy with myself and how I looked.

Outfit Details:

Black Skinny Pants: UNI QLO
Black Knee High Boots: Ross but similar style here
Not seen - I love you I know v-neck: Her Universe

I have a tendency to forget what I have bought recently. Yup, I have THAT problem and as I was digging around I rediscovered my "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU" sweater. May The Force is in gold, Be With is in bronze, and You is in silver. I had underneath my favorite Lei and Han shirt from Her Universe. I topped it off with my favorite black skinny pants and my knee high boots.

I need more boots.

AND LOOK AT MY HAIR!! We went to the Dickens's fair on Sunday and after three years of hmm and huh, I finally got my hair braided. I asked the ladies which one would last through a few nights sleep and let me keep the style for as long as possible, she recommend this one.

I took these photos last night so you can see the tiny hairs escaping, which is something they do no matter the hair style I have on. Hair spray is a losing battle and bobbi pins seems to vanish when you really need them. Once I take the braids out they will be all over my room.

Maybe it was getting my hair done that snapped me out of my funk and helped with the whole "you got a sweater on and you look goooooood!' mentality I had yesterday morning. I wish I could braid my hair like this but that would require some bending that I don't think I can do. I'm also going to try and milk this braid for as long as I can.

And since I am wearing something STAR WARS, I'm going to count this outfit as part of my 30 Days to Star Wars The Force Awakens countdown! Day 7!!

Thanks for reading and what other advice do you have about getting yourself out of funk?

Project Life: Scrapbooking My Trip To Japan

One of the geeky things that I love to do is scrapbook. I love decorating my photos, cutting up paper, gluing things down, and getting to relieve that moment in the photo. Also, it gets them off my computer!

I use to do the traditional scrapbooking but I don't have the room for all the freaking supplies. I sold them on eBay and switch to doing it all digital and then having them printed out into books from Shutterfly. I heard about Project Life which is pretty much using pocket pages and some places sell pre printed papers so all you go is slide things in and you are done.

I really can't explain but I missed using actual supplies and pocket pages and simple cards take up less space so I started my memory keeping that way. I also started working on my Japan trip and I wanted to share the first couple of pages I have done.

Here's the title page. I used a photo from us at Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Tokyo Tower, The Golden Temple, and the deadliest ramen I have ever eaten! I had a card with a "map" on it and I typed out "Let's be Adventures" on my typewriter, and used letter stickers for the title card. I need to write out Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Tokyo on the bottom of it. I want to use my own hand writing but I need to work up the nerve to do it. I don't want to screw up the card.

The next page has a group photo of us at the airport! I also included the photo of my wallet and yen that I had taken the day before. I typed up info about our flight on the typewriter and glued them on to a card that has airplanes on it. That photo of me and Jaime and then the smaller one with Debra were on the plane. I lost my actual boarding passes so I printed out the e-mail with our flight info.

I collect so many papers just in case they can be included in my book.

This page has the first picture I took of Osaka after we got out of the airport and onto the subway. I added a photo of the subway route map too because look how crazy it is! I also included Jaime's freak out of his first vending machine. It was too cute not to add.

The last page I have completed shows a bit of where we stayed at and how tall Jaime is! He bumped his head everywhere that first night. That bowl of tuna was my first official meal in Osaka and the random stack of stuff was my score at 7-11! They have awesome things at their 7-11s! The next day was our official first day and we headed off to Kyoto. When we got off the subway to switch to another train we smelled something yummy that Jaime yelled out "Follow the smell" and we ended up at a waffle place called Manneken. They had chocolate, green tea, maple sugar, and other flavors. Of course since it was Halloween they even had Pumpkin. It was so yummy!

There you have it! I scrapbook! I love to scrapbook! I love to craft in general and scraping is something that lets me do that. I just want to mention how hard it is to photograph these! The natural lighting in my building/apt is pretty much gone now and the amount of glare I got from the plastic. I need to work on photographing them but I still wanted to share my pages even though they are not perfectly photographed.

Do you guys scrapbook?

Everyday Cosplay: Leia Organa - Bespin Outfit

Everyday Cosplay: Princess Leia -Cloud City

If follow me on twitter, you know I am ridiculously excited for The Force Awakens. I have no control over how excited I am. Disneyland is also starting their Season of the Force on November 16 and I really want to go but I'm broke and I have my Star Wars 5K marathon in January so I think I can wait 2 months.

So I have an everyday cosplay post! It's been a while since I've done an everyday cosplay post and I decided to tackle Leia Organa's outfit from Star Wars Empire Strikes Back: Cloud City / Bespin! The outfits she wears in Empire Strikes Back are some of my favorites.

It looks like in the movie the burgundy outfit is two pieces but I decided to go for a one piece/jump suit. I love these outfits but I never seem to personally find one that would look good on me. For the long sleeveless cardigan I went with something simple and in grey. Truthfully, I can't tell if it's grey, blue, or cream colored so I just went with something I like. Her shoes also matched the color of her top/pants and I tried really hard to find matching ones. I think I did a great job.

This is a outfit I could actually wear depending on how the one piece looks on me! Haha..

Unearthed From My Closet: Visit to the Ghibli Museum

One of the things I got to do while in Japan was visit the Ghibli Museum. It was beautiful and breathtaking. I love all the animated films that have been released by Studio Ghibli and I made sure that I got to visit with or without my friends.

During SDCC, I bought Her Universe Studio Ghibli Spirited Away Haku Kimono and I knew that I needed to wear it the day I visited the museum. I kept it simple and paired it with jeans and a black v-neck from Old Navy. The kimono is so pretty, flowy, and comfortable. I own a lot of Her Universe items and this one is my favorite by far.

We weren't allowed to take photos inside so I am limited to the outside shots which include my outfit but I plan on making a post about my adventures in the museum soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Japan Trip: MaiDreamin Cafe

The one thing that failed me when trying to share my UK/France photos was I tried to do them by day. I decided for Japan, I'm going to share the specific things we did.

On a random day in Osaka as we were wondering the streets, we came across a maid cafe and decided why not! I didn't get to go to one during my last trip and Debra was excited to check it out. It was called MaiDreamin. We took a look at the menu and they had the cutest set up for the food. There were also packages that would include just the  meal or you could go as high as getting a performance.

We just picked a meal, drink, and a photo!

We were not allowed to take photos of the maids or much of the inside but they did allow us to take photos of the food and I had to because OMFG they were ridiculously cute!

I order a grape soda alcohol drink which was pretty good and I got the bear face hamburger meal. It look like a kids meal and I was all about it! Jaime got a katsu bear and yes it was cute but OMG my first thought was "they killed the poor bear!"

The food was good. It wasn't amazing but really, you are not there for the food. While we waited for our food, our maid would come over and talk to us. She was really nice and tried so hard to talk to us in English. There was were two other people in the restuarant so they were getting chatted with a lot but I wasn't going to complain.

I did read a review at another cafe where people complained that their maid didn't talk to them a lot. Um.. if you both don't know each others language how do you expect a full blown convo? Anyways, while we waited for our food, she came over and placed headbands on us.

I got bunny ears, Debra got bear ears, and the boys got maid headbands. I love that Jaime was such a good sport over everything. I know he wouldn't be all like meh WTF but it was great to know we weren't making him do things he didn't want too.

After we were done with our meal, the maid took photos with each one of us and told us how to pose. Since they used instax film, they were instant and they decorated them too!

I love our photos and I can't wait to put them in my scrapbook. We hung out for a bit more and then we left.

It was a fun experience and even though it was a bit pricey, they add a per person fee as well, I'm glad we did it. Also, we discovered that MaiDreamin cafe is everywhere. We saw a bunch of them when we got to Tokyo and the girls put out CDs and have shows. I knew they performed in the cafes but no, they do a whole lot more!

If you are interested in checking it out the one we went to was in Osaka. I'll leave the address below.

Have you been to a maid cafe? How was it? Do you want to go to one?

Funko Marvel Collector Corps - Villains

I got my Funko Collector Corps in the mail which was a great surprise. They normally send out a tracking number but it just showed up in my mail box last week!

So this month's theme was Villains and I couldn't wait to see what was inside and I was excited for the theme. So here's what I got!

Let's start off with the pin and patch. I actually found a vest on sale and i have plans to add all of these patches on it! It's going to be glorious! This time around I got a Green Goblin pin and a Red Skull patch.

Up next is the comic and shirt. This time it was issue #1 Invincible Iron Man. This is another series I am not reading so I'm going to sell it or use it in a project. The shirt is pretty cool but again, not something I'm going to use.

This time around we got an Dorbz Loki and a Venom POP keychain. Jaime has taken the keychain. Loki is pretty cute. This is my third Dorbz figure. I'm not going out of way to buy them though because I really don't need another collection.

And the POP! figure for this box is a Zombie Morbius. I don't know much about this character but Jaime does. I am debating if I'm going to keep it or sell it. Jaime told me a bit about his back story but I have so many things already that I don't have the room to keep something just because.

It's the risk I take when I sub to these boxes but I'm okay with that. I've had good luck selling the Loot Crate stuff I don't want so selling these items shouldn't be too hard.

Did you get a Collector Corps box? Did you get the same items? What were your thoughts on this month's theme?

I can't wait to see what's in store for the next one!

Moving Target: A Princess Leia Adventure - Book Review

Princess Leia returns for an all-new adventure in this thrilling upper middle grade novel. Set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back andStar Wars: The Return of the Jedi, the story follows the warrior princess as she leads a ragtag group of rebels on a dangerous mission against the evil Galactic Empire.

Hidden in the story are also hints and clues about the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, making this a must-read for fans old and new!

I am a huge fan of Star Wars but I never got into reading any of the books that came after. Once I found out that was a thing I tried but got so overwhelmed with the selection that I was like Noooooope! I also got told that a lot of it was garbage - their words not mine. So with Disney buying Lucas and starting over with canon a lot of books have started to be released and I'm so happy to dive in head first now.

The first book I bought was Cecil Castellucci and Jason Fry Star Wars Moving Target: A Princess Leia Adventure. It is a middle school age book - 240 pages and Amazon says ages 10-14 - but that did not stop me because it is a Princess Leia book!! It took me 2 days to read it even though it was only 240 pages but over all I say get the book!

Her story is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. We also get a chance to read more about familiar characters like Nien Nunb, Mon Mothma, Ackbar, and even our dear friend Luke makes an appearance. We also get introduce to new characters and a few of them head out with Leia and Nien on a mission that involves becoming a decoy because they have found out about a certain 2nd "moon" being built.

The story is told in Leia's point of view and it's really well written. I absolutely pictured Leia in my head saying everything from this book. She deals with a lot of emotions such as guilt, loss, and love. She brings up her feelings in regards to the destruction of Alderaan so to those that were annoyed that she never cried about it, here you go! She also deals with her feelings over Han and how much she wants to find him but she can't because of her duties to the Rebels. That also has her fighting an inner battle when it comes to the whole idea of being a Rebel or Royal.

None of it is done in a way that makes her weak. You understand what she is feeling through out the book and not once is broken or made inadequate. This is the Princess Leia that I love and was so happy to read that in this story.

Also, all her feelings and talks about Han made my shipper heart happy!! And again, it was done so wonderfully.

I love the interaction between Mon Mothma and Leia. I think that entire dialogue was my favorite in the entire book. Getting to know more about Nien Numb is always a plus!

Phil Noto does the cover and insert artwork for the story and like always does an amazing job!

And I would like to say that epilogue has made me have so.many.questions!

Don't let the age range of the book turn you away. If you love Star Wars and Princess Leia get this book! It is a quick but a fun read.

Up next on my Star Wars reading is Sumggler's Run : A Han Solo and Chewbacca Adventure by Greg Rucka!

Unearthed From My Closet: Weapons and a Wedding (Rehearsal!)

My best friend is getting married this Friday (Oh.My.God!) and last Saturday she held the rehearsal and lunch over in Napa, Ca. We got there a bit early, had some drinks, food, clowned around but then it was time to buckle down and figure out how this ceremony was going to go.

Random fact: This is my first time being  part of a wedding party and holy frack we had to do this a few times to get the walking down. Haha.. some of us walk a bit too fast. It was also miserably hot... 95 degrees hot which I normally don't mind but there was no breeze and humid. Baaaah but it gave me an excuse to wear a dress.

Earlier in the week I had gone to Hot Topic to pick up my Rey POP! figure and they were having a sale on clearance - buy one item get one item for a $1.00. I found they had a random Orphan Black dress in my size and I quickly snatched it up. I had found the outfit I was going to wear to the rehearsal!

What? One doesn't wear a dress with a gun print all over it to a pre wedding lunch? I also picked up the cutest floppy hat from them. It's black with laser cut music notes on the brim. Music notes and guns are the thing, didn't you know!

And thank you person who designed this dress and added pockets. They added pockets. Thank you!

I went non existent with accessories because again, IT WAS HOT. My friend did buy me a pair of Star Wars hoops which I threw on while at the bar.

I absolutely love this dress and am so happy I managed to find it randomly and on clearance. Hot topic has been releasing some really cute things and their next release are items from American Horror Story Hotel.

Floppy Hat: Hot Topic
Purse: Betsey Johnson (similar)
Boots: Unknown

Have a great day!

Geek Girl Brunch Bay Area Launch!

Back in August I along with Gwen and Jessica, launched the very first Geek Girl Brunch in the Bay Area! I was both very excited and nervous but it went off without a hitch and everyone had fun! Our first theme was MARVEL and I think we made the right choice.

The brunch was held at Townie Restaurant & Bar which is located in Berkeley, CA. I caught a ride with Gwen and Nina to the restaurant and we were greet already by a few of the girls joining us. Gwen, Jessica, and I then started to place the goodies/swag were giving away!!

I printed out Marvel LEGO coloring pages which were free and from the LEGO site. It was a mix of Spider-man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Avengers. Gwen brought The Avengers stickers and gave out nerdy version of Cards against Humanity cards.  for everyone. Jessica created some great candle holder which we used to place crayons for everyone to use. She also gave out Avenger theme pencils, erasers, and confetti!

Nina created really pretty Ant Man pins for everyone in attendance. Be sure to check out her Esty shop - Le Fancy Geek Boutique for some amazing necklaces.

After everyone was seated and drinks were ordered, we went around the table and introduced ourselves. It seems a lot of us love Star Wars, work in video games, and had a moment with Nathan Fillion. We then ordered our food and continued to chat and get to know each other. Through out the brunch we had Marvel trivia and prizes were handed out.

Thanks to Nina for donating a Thor necklace, Gwen had some awesome Marvel key chains, and I brought a Hulk Disney Vinylmation.

After brunch we headed off to Fantastic Comics and a few of us picked some stuff up! I bought a hard cover of Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back release of the original comics.

Everyone had  a blast and it sounded like a group like this was needed. We are having our next meet up in October and I think all things are pointing to a Nightmare before Christmas theme. If you are in the Bay Area and want to join, register over at Geek Girl Brunch and LIKE our facebook page to get updates!

I can't wait!

Thanks to Nina and Gwen for the photos. My phone has decided to have my photos for lunch.

Favorite Things About Autumn

Welcome to another 5 Fandom Friday post!! Today we are writing about  our favorite things about Autumn!

Fall begins on the 23 and I can't wait for it!! San Francisco doesn't really experience seasons but for some reason the last few weeks have been really warm. I'm talking 90 degrees warn and that's deadly for some of us! Haha...

Here's hoping for some rain this season too!

1. Tea

I'm not a ice tea drinker so with the cooler seasons comingthat means I can drink a lot more tea! I love tea. I live for tea. I have so much tea it's crazy. My favorite right now is White Chocolate Peppermint and I can't wait to have it! Caffeine free of course since too much of it makes me sick!

2. Halloween

My favorite holiday of the year is coming! I just adore Halloween so much! The candy, the costumes, the spookiness, the horror movies. I am ready to celebrate!!

3. The return of my TV shows

The awesome thing about fall is that not only are some of my favorite shows returning to TV (still gotta wait until winter for The X-Files) when it's raining, I can wrap myself with my favorite Minion blanket, have some tea, and watch TV all day. My DVR is so not ready for the new season!

I have a problem. A problem that I will keep having! I love planners and even though a normal human doesn't need more than 1, I can't help myself. I also have so.many.post.it.notes that it's ridiculous. Fall means new planner options and more stuff to use! Give me all the stickers, pens, washi tape and post it!

In 3 weeks I will be on a plane (sadly not the R2-D2 or BB-8) to Japan. We will be going to Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and of course Tokyo. I will get to celebrate Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland / Disney Sea and Universal Studios. I have plans to go to Deer Park in Nara. I have a list of all the restaurants I want to go to. We have been planning since March and it's almost here.

There it is! My favorite things about Autumn this year! Now off to read about your favorite things!!

Have a great Friday and have a wonderful weekend!

Funko Marvel Collector Corps Secret Wars Box

I'm finally getting around to sharing my Collector Corps box! I got it the Thursday I left for PAX and have just been lazy getting it photographed.

Fair warning: a flood of photos ahead!

This month we got 2 POP figures in the box! Also included was a comic, t-shirt, patch, and pin. I was so excited getting two figures. This time we got Thor and Spider-man!!

Check out Miles Morales!!! I was really excited to see him in the box. Now according to Collector Corps, these are exclusive to the box and will not be released in stores. I'm wondering if  Funko will be doing a different version of Miles or is this it. I really hope they make more Miles Morales.

Oh my goodness check out Thor!! Ack, I love it. I saw a prototype photo floating around so I knew she was coming but I didn't realize it would be for the Collector Corps. I think she's my favorite by far. I did like the Hulkbuster but Thor beats him out. She comes with her hammer, her cap, and I love the helmet.

Also included was issue 1 of Secret wars and the cutest POP shirt ever! The patch and pin went somewhere and I don't really photograph them. I'm here for the POPs!! Haha...

Did you get your box already? What did you think of the picks? Also, I can't wait for the next one, VILLAINS!!

Oh and did you guys hear about the Star Wars one? Oh yea, I'm ordering that one too. I actually cancelled Loot Crate for it.

Thanks for reading!
