LEGO STAR WARS The New Yoda Chronicles -DVD Review

I have fun writing up reviews for films over at Agents of Geek and I have decided to share them over on the blog as well. I know I do link them during my monthly "What I'm writing" but I want to share them some more. Especially those older reviews!
Also, with Christmas coming up, maybe you find a film or show that you think a friend/family member would enjoy!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LEGO and Star Wars have proven time and time again that they are the perfect match in a galaxy far, far away. Their newest series,  LEGO STAR WARS The New Yoda Chronicles is out now on DVD.
All four 22-minute episodes of LEGO STAR WARS The New Yoda Chronicles  have been collected and put on DVD for your repeated viewing pleasure. The series take places during the original trilogy years and feature Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and everyone’s favorite droids – C-3PO and R2D2. Of course you couldn’t name the series LEGO STAR WARS The New Yoda Chronicles without Yoda making an appearance and that he does.
The main story line of the series is Luke’s search for the Holocrons. Yoda needs those crystal which holds the knowledge of the Jedi and secrets of the of the order. He believes the Holocrons will help him in training Luke to become the best Jedi ever. Of course where there is Luke, Darth Vader isn’t far behind and he wants the Holocrons for himself.
I know these series are aimed for children but I love watching them! I was very excited to get this DVD because I do not have Disney XD (where it originally aired) but I will say it wasn’t my favorite. I mean, it wasn’t terrible at all but you can tell this one was definitely for children. The jokes did get better as the story continued. We all know that C-3PO is a scaredy cat but they spent an entire episode hamming it up and then getting Senator Organa in that mix too. It got annoying personally.  They did mock Darth Vader and how he got “built” in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith and I loved it! That was great!
The DVD did lack extra features and again, you can tell the target audiences was for children. Are children going to care about behind the scenes, making of, and all the other bonus feature goodness? They did offer an alternative ending giving us a “what if?” aspect to the story. That was never shown on TV and definitely worth the watch. So in total you get the 4 22-minute episodes, the alternative ending, and subtitle options on the DVD.
LEGO STAR WARS THE NEW YODA CHRONICLES is worth the buy! The animation is great, the jokes do get better as you progress, and I love the voices. Also, Darth Vader gets picked on so much in the series. I love it! Those were my favorite parts in the story. Pick it up today!!
Voice Cast: Eric Bauza (Spongebob Movie, Ben 10: Omniverse, Batman: Assault on Arkham) as Luke Skywalker/Porkins Pilot; Michael Daingerfield (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Catwoman) as Han Solo/Admiral Ozzel/Biggs Pilot; Anthony Daniels (Star Wars Franchise) as C-3PO; Trevor Devall (Kid vs. Kat, Johnny Test) as Emperor Palpatine/Admiral Piett/Admiral Ackbar.
LEGO STAR WARS THE NEW YODA CHRONICLES is available now on DVD!!

Note: Review originally written for Agents of Geek. I was given the DVD to review but thoughts are my own. Clicking on the link and buying the item may earn me a bit of income. Thank you for your understanding.
