Fandom of the Month box - December 2015

Heeeeey! I'm back with another unboxing!!! This time I'm here with Fandom of the Month!
I've seen this subscription box floating around but I never signed up for it. It's a geeky jewelry and accessory monthly box that has been around for a year I believe. I've been tempted but have shied away because I never see a box where I like a good chunk of the items. I'm really picky when it comes to my jewelry.

So what made me break and order the December box? Their theme was Star Wars.

Are you that surprised?

So knowing that the box was going to be Star Wars I knew there was a 99% chance that I was going to love the box so I went with it. The box was $13.00 plus shipping.

It arrived a bit towards the end of December which doesn't surprise me because USPS loses their minds during the holidays. Anyways, I thought the box was freaking adorable. I love it already but let's see what's inside!

I got a really cute Death Star card! It's a informational card thanking me for ordering and giving me the links. I may either stick this on my desk or turn it into a postcard to send to someone.

I've seen these little drawstring gift bags that get sent with the items and they are always so cute. This month's was no exception and they used R2-D2. My favorite little droid. I love the fact that's a re-useable bag and I can use it to store and travel with my jewelry.

A Chewbacca magnet!! How cute. He's currently hanging around in my cube at work. It's not that big, about the size of a trading card.

Now onto the actual jewelry! First off, lightsaber earrings!! Yes!! I actually made my own lightsaber earrings. I bought a pair of Darth Vader ones from ebay and I figured out a way to turn them into earrings. It's not the best but they are holding. Now I have a pair of Yoda earrings. I wore them all day after I took them out of the box and they held up!

A R2-D2 and C-3PO necklace! The chain is pretty long. I want to say about 32" inches. I think. It's silver with C-3PO in gold and R2 in silver. I love it. I also wore it all day once I got it out of the box! They are not fll 3D charms. They are only half and the back side is open. I don't have any necklaces with my favorite droids.

Trivia: I use to hate C-3PO so much but now he's growing on me. And also, bless R2-D2.. the first thing he does when he wakes up is insult C-3PO.

And the final item is a bangle with MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU stamped/engraved on it. It's a half bangle so it's fully adjustable but usually these types of bangles end up bending terribly after a lot of stretching open and close. This one is a bit thicker then others that I have so I'm hoping it lasts a lot longer.

I'm so happy with this box! I loved everything in it and I'm so glad that the only thing gold was C-3PO. I'm not a big fan of gold so for everything to be silver was great. Definitely worth the 13 bucks in my opinion.

I had no plans to renew again for January but I screwed up and forgot to cancel. I got an e-mail saying that I subbed again. Oh well. January's theme is Magical so we shall see what I get. It anything, these items will make for great birthday presents to friends!

Have you subbed to Fandom of the Month? What items were your favorite?

Funko STAR WARS Smugglers Bounty Box!

First there was Collector Corps and now there is the Smugglers Bounty! Funko and Star Wars teamed up to create a bi-monthly box based off Star Wars and you know damn well I had to join.

I got the very first box in November and I had plans to do an unboxing video but then it became December and now it's January. I scrapped that idea and decided to just make a blog post to show what I got.

Just like the Collector Corps, the Smugglers Bounty came with a patch and a pin. I got a First Order Tie Fighter patch and a Kylo Ren pin. I still have no real idea what to do with all these pins and patches. I was going to throw the Marvel ones on a jean vest but now that I will have Star Wars ones, I may scrap that idea.

Or I may do just do a Star Wars patch vest and sell off my Marvel ones.

I got a Kylo Ren POP shirt! I heard there were different options for the shirts and I ended up Kylo Ren. I haven't been a huge fan of the Collector Corps shirts, I have only liked 1 so far but I love them as POP characters so I'm going to be keeping this one.

And we got a Star Wars The Force Awakens lanyard because I really need more lanyards. Almost every sub box throws them in and I have a huge collection. My work badge has been carrying Aperture Labs and a Halo one just so I can use them. I may get rid of those and use this one instead. It has an adorable First Order Stormtrooper on it.

But really, I'm getting sick of the amount of lanyards I get in my sub boxes.

CAPTAIN PHASMA CHROME POP!!! I knew we were getting her in the box and she is awesome in person. I never got around to buying the non chrome release because I knew she was going to be in the box. I have decided that if there is a variant release of the character, I'm going to get those instead. My Force Awakens POP figures are just that, all variants. But yes, Captain Phasma is my favorite of everything in here.

First Order Tie Fighter Pilot POP!! She was the surprise POP figure that no one knew about.  I guess there were two versions, one with the red stripes which I got and one without the stripes. The one with the stripes is pretty cool. Sadly, the piece that connects to her mask broke (poppped?) off. Since it took me almost two months to open it, I doubt Funko will exchange it and if their CS is anything like Collector Corps, I may not get a reply anytime soon. I'll just glue it or something.

Overall, I really loved the first Smugglers Bounty box. My second one is actually in trasnit somewhere between UPS and USPS. I'm excited for the second one and have been trying to avoid spoilers.

Did you go for the Smugglers Bounty Box? What are your thoughts on it? Which Tie Fighter did you get? Which shirt did you end up with?

EDIT: I forgot about FUNKO FRIDAY being today and the theme for this week is Show & Tell!!

The Smugglers Bounty box was something I was completed excited for because it took 2 of my greatest loves : Star Wars and POPs and turned it into a bi-monthly box. This was the very first box and I love it to bits. I actually just found out that the Tie Fighter one I got is considered the chase figure so wow! I have never been that lucky!

My second box has finally arrived - missing between the UPS and USPS hand off - and I can't wait to crack that one open!!

Funko Fridays: Funko Friends – How many have you corrupted?

I'm sitting here trying to figure out who I have corrupted and you know what, I haven't. Haha.. all the friends that collect them have corrupted themselves. I do have a few that love them but they refuse to buy them. I don't nudge them though. I figured if they really wanted to they would and would own about 10 within their first day.

This doesn't even hold my whole collection

I will say I have friends who are terrible enablers. We are always updating each other with the newest releases, always telling each other to buy that Funko, and we certainly team up with each other to get those exclusives.

Joie got me the Kylo Ren Target exclusive.
Travis snagged me the Freddy with needles Hot Topic exclusive.
Gwen sent me the chrome C-3PO B&N exclusive.

We all failed getting into the booth at SDCC 2015 but we did hit up Barnes and Nobles and Hot Topic for the summer convention exclusives during the weekend!

My small Star Wars collection

I guess you can say we corrupt each other into always getting more. Haha..

So this is my post for Funko Friday. I guess you can say I will nudge you to get that Funko you want.

Oh Hot Topic, you are deadly

Have a great weekend!

Star Wars x Irregular Choice Han & Leia Flats!

In case you didn't know, Irregular Choice teamed up with Star Wars to create a collection of limited edition shoes. I got my first look during Star Wars celebration and I fell in love.

There was a pair of Han &  Leia flats and I wanted them. I love a lot of characters in Star Wars but Han & Leia are my favorite. I love them as solo (yes, I know) characters and of course together. The flats were floral, had glitter, and a photo of them on the shoes. They were like if my grandmother took the ugly floral fabric from her couch and made me shoes. They were amazing. They were taking pre orders at Celebration but I had already spent so much money I just couldn't do it... that and they were very expensive. Like $150+ up expensive. I figured if by the time they were out and I had them money, maybe I will do it.

They got released finally and they sold out quick. I never got a chance to stare at them online to hum and hmm over it. Every single style they created, sold out. They had some with lightsaber heels, R2-D2 heels, flats with C-3PO or Darth Vader. All of them gone. I got wind that one site got some in stock. After whining about them (it's what I do best) and finding some discount codes, my mother helped me get them.

Merry Christmas to me!!

They arrived a week before Christmas and they were just as amazing as I remembered them. Look at the box for them!! The tissue paper!! Oh man, they went all out and props to Fun.com for the care they took in boxing the box up and shipping them to me.

Okay enough about the box. Let's check out the shoes!

Oh they are so pretty! Check out the embroidery on the shows. They went with Leia's classic outfit and they used a photo of her with the blaster. Haha.. I like her ANH outfit but my favorite outfit of hers will always be Bespin/Cloud City.

Here's a close up shot of the shoes. The photos are digitally printed but they feel really smooth and match the fabric of the shoe. The flowers on the front are embroidered and you get four of them on each side and guys, there's a tiny heart. I love them. On the outer heel of each shoe the Star Wars logo is embroidered in black and gold. The heel and sole edging are in gold and black glitter.

So cute.

But that's not all either. They even decorate the bottom the shoes!

I have yet to wear them because I don't want to ruin the bottom!! I have heard that there are clear protectors for Irregular Choice shoes made because they also have awesome designs on the bottom. Once I track some down, I will get back to everyone about how comfortable they are. I think the art they used was from the DVD covers.

Oh my god, I just love and adore these shoes. A big thank you and many hugs to my mother for them. I was pushing sales on the apps but she gave me half to buy them. I am so glad more items are being released for the female fans and I can't wait for more Star Wars shoes. Shoes are my second weakness. Purses is the first.

Best Christmas Ever!

Have you guys seen the rest of the collection? Did you buy any? Which ones are your favorite?

FUNKO Friday: The Funko I Want Most

I did not know Funko Friday was a thing until I stumbled across on it on Barb's blog!

I am a Funko POP! collector. I just can't resist them. I do try to limit my collections to only those that I want and I also try to get their variant if it's a thing. My Star Wars The Force Awakens POP! figures are made up of just that; Rey w/goggles (Hot Topic), Finn in Stormtrooper gear (Gamestop), Kylo Ren w/out hood (Target), shiny C-3PO (Barnes & Noble) etc. If I just cracked and bought everything I'd be super broke and left without room for my other stuff. It is hard to limit what I want but I think I'm pretty good at.

There are so many that I want which leads to today's Funko Friday post: The Funko I Want Most!

When FUNKO announced this awesome three pack, I knew I had to have it in my collection. I don't own Slave Leia or Jabba POP! figures. Jabba has been hard to find for some reason, I don't care much for anything Slave Leia, and Crumb has yet to be released  but I knew I wanted it.

The only problem is this set is a store exclusive. A Wal Mart exclusive. I have a love/hate relationship with store exclusives. I do love hunting them but I hate them when they are at a store that is not in my city. San Francisco doesn't have Wal Marts. I have had friends check their local stores for me. I've searched Ebay, Amazon, and even Mercari for a nicely priced set. I found out the 3pk retailed for $30 which is a lot for a Funko. I think the most I spent was 15 for the TARDIS. So keeping in mind the retail, how much it would probably cost to ship to me if a friend found it/or my travel cost on public transportation to search Wal Marts, I'm determined to find it for a nice price.

I refuse to pay $60+ for it.

So here's hoping I come across one for a great price or I actually find one in Wal Mart which I think won't happen anymore. The set was released in October and a few friends said they never saw them at all. I'm also trying to find Star Wars TFA Poe without helmet. He's also a Wal Mart exclusive and no one has seen it. I may crack and get the with helmet but you can't really tell who it is.

Which Funko is on your must have list? Happy Friday!
