Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Wizarding World of Harry Potter! by usagimylene

I'm currently at Universal Studios in Hollywood and I'm visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I'm excited is an understatement. I've been to the one in Orlando but I do need to go back since I went before the new side was build and to the one in Osaka!

I decided to make a outfit set showing up what I'm wearing to the park! As soon as I said I'm going, I knew I was going to wear the awesome Mischief Managed tank from Jordandene! Also, since it's Southern California where it's warm almost all year round, I was going to wear shorts. San Francisco has been cold again and I need sun!!

I'm a crossbody purse type of girl when I hit up amusement parks. It makes life easier and if I bring a backpack, I'm not tempted to over stuff it. I don't want my shoulders to get tired! And of course tennis shoes for all the running around I'm going to be doing.

I'm hoping to vlog this visit and try to get some outfit photos!! I'm so giddy!!

Have a great weekend!!

Funko Friday: If I were a Funko!

Happy Friday!!! The weekend is almost here and tomorrow I will be spending the day at Universal Studios!! I am so excited to check out The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I've been to both Orlando and Osaka but now I get to visit the one in LA.

But this post isn't about that! Haha.. with both Five Fandom Friday and Funko Friday on breaks ( I think Funko Friday is on break... didn't find themes for May) I decided to venture into a past theme for Friday.

I went with If I were a Funko from back in December because I did not know there was a Funko generator!!

I present to you the Gladys Funko POP figure! Haha.. the selection was limited but I think it showcases me. I wanted longer hair but nope. I'm totally into maxi shirts right now so of course I picked that and I live for tank tops. This was fun!!

Did you know about the Funko generator? Have you made a Funko of yourself? Share it!!

And Happy FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!

Review - Wonder Woman Lip gloss, Lipstick, and Lip Smacker!

Image via: DC

So let me start off with I am a make up newbie. Yup, I'm in the realm of "what is all this stuff and how do I wear it?" I never had anyone in my life be really into make up and 36 years later, still not really.

I love make up, I love seeing the looks people create, I love the colors but I am clueless. This is the year where I want to jump in and try to find myself in the make up world. This also means I want to review the stuff I get because let's face it, this is going to fun, terrible, and an awkward journey.

Now with that out of the way, I have a review for the lip gloss, lipstick, and Lip Smacker from the new Wonder Woman collection that was released this month!

You can find these items along with eyeshadows, bronzer, nail polish, eyeliner, and bags at your local Walgreens or Drugstore.com. I decided I wanted to try the lip items first and go from there.

First off I got the lip gloss set. This set included 3 tubes of lip gloss and retailed for $6.99.

There are different shades; a berry color, a hot pink, and a baby pink. The names for the glosses are pretty great too and kept with the Wonder Woman theme as well. I love the packing as well. The box art is amazing. It has a a comic vintage feel to it and the yellow, blues, and orange work really well.

Wonder Woman

Mighty Aphrodite

Athena's Kiss

I really liked the Wonder Woman gloss. It's a nice berry shade but I do not have swatches for you guys. I took the pictures and I spent a week staring at them and decided that they just weren't for me. I ended up selling them. Since I went with that choice, I didn't open them. I love lip gloss but the more I looked at Might Aphrodite and Athena's Kiss, I decided those pinks just weren't going to be something I would wear and to spend 7 bucks on one lip gloss is a lot.

Next we have a tin from Lip Smacker. I love Lip Smackers. I have their Minnie Tsum Tsum one and I was excited to also pick up this mini tin. It's a basic tin but so Wonder Woman. It smells really yummy. It's a nice shade of red and doesn't leave a tint on your lips. I love wearing it. And the name is great. One of my favorites!

Strawberry Empower-mint

The only issue I have with lip tins is the fact that I have to stick my finger in it. I'm thinking about getting a lip brush and using that so I'm not always jabbing my finger into the tin. That and when ones has long nails, getting the stuff under it.

And for the final item, the lipstick! It's red with a nice, simple image of Wonder Woman on it. She's even holding her lasso of truth. The package is really cute and that was what caught my eye actually. I hadn't seen photos of the lip color but I wanted the tube.

Heroine

When I finally opened it, it was a dark shade of red. It's sort of the same color scale as the Wonder Woman lip gloss. I really liked the color and thought it would work on me. It's a twist lipstick and it's sturdy. I twisted it a few times quickly and it didn't break! (I had a friend who would break hers all the time so either she kept getting bad ones or she was She-Hulk!) I did a swatch on my hand to see the actual color and it so wasn't the deep red I thought it was.

Yea, it looks a bit more pinkish. I took this picture outside, in the sun, and it looks so different from the tube. It looks red in the tube but more pinkish on my hand. It's a nice pink but whoa, that's a difference from tube to skin.

It did not look good on me. I'm going spare you a photo of me wearing it but trust me, it looked bad. It looked like I had worn lipstick and decided to wipe it off with my hand or something. I mean, my lips didn't look tinted just faded. Like, I had worn it on the start of my day and never touched up. Clearly I'm not meant to wear this shade of pink. The lipstick glided on nicely, felt smooth and not sticky at all. It just not my color.

Not at all.

BUT overall, all three products are really amazing! If you missed out on the MAC x Wonder Woman collection because it sold out or you couldn't justify the prices (or not into make up at the time) this set is great! Especially since I've seen the MAC items go for double if you do find them now for sale.

Granted I didn't try on the lip gloss but from what I saw - the package and the tubes, they are worth getting especially at 6.99 for three colors. The lip stick cost 2.99 and I'm okay with not wearing it. I love the tube/packing. And the lip smacker tin was either 1.99 or 2.99!

So far my local Walgreen's haven't gotten the bags in and I really want to get one. I will find them.

What about you? Have you picked up anything from the collection? What's your favorite?

Collector Corps CIVIL WAR UNBOXING

In honor of Captain America CIVIL WAR being released today (YAY!!!) I'm sharing photos of the Marvel Collector Corps box. I was so excited for this box just because of the possible potential due to Captain America Civil War.

Would I be getting a Hawkeye? They left him out in the original line up. Will there a Vision? Scarlet Witch? A Steve and Bucky two pack? Ooo BLACK PANTHER??? FALCON?? Iron Man and War Machine?

Again, so much possiblity in this box....

Yea, nope. I didn't enjoy it. It felt like such a let down. In case you haven't seen it, let me show you!

Crossbones patch and Black Panther pin. I will say, the pins always, always end up flying around in the box. One day I'm going to end up NOT getting a pin. Anyways, I was stocked seeing that the pin was Black Panther. I'm all for more Black Panther merch and we need it. In terms of the patch, I wasn't to excited for it. I don't know much about Crossbones and without getting spoilery (I saw the movie last night) I don't care for his character.

We got a POP shirt!! It's half Captain America and Iron Man along with I'm assuming is Scarlet Witch and Falcon on Cap's side with Black Widow and Black Panther on Iron Man's side. Yay for more Widow and Scarlet Witch!!

The comic that was included was Black Panther #1 with POP drawings of Captain America and Black Panther. And of course another lanyard.

Now on to the POPs. Again, there is where I was hoping for something awesome. I knew Captain America had to be included since it is his film. So we got an Adorbz and it was

Tony Skank Stark

I don't collect Adorbz. I do have some because they have been showing up in the Collector Corps set but eh, okay Tony. Maybe I'll keep.

And I had heard rumors that the POP was a 2pk set. OOO was it going to be Captain America and Falcon, Cap and Bucky, Cap and Hawkeye, Cap and Scarlet Witch?

IRON MAN AGAIN!!

Personally, I'm not thrilled with the POPs this time around. There is already so many Captain America and Iron Man POPs that I was so hoping for someone else. Yes, please add Cap it is hsi movie but you gave me a Iron Man when you already made an adorbz? BLACK PANTHER!! FALCON!!! SCARLET WITCH!! BLACK WIDOW!! Those would of been a great POP figure to have and would of gotten more merch for these characters.

But alas, what can one do? I'm going to sell the Iron Man adorbz. The comic and patch as well. I'm keeping the Black Panther pin and I'm working my way through the emotions of keeping the 2pk or not.

I will say I AM FREAKING EXCITED FOR THE NEXT BOX!! Women of Power and I've seen Spider Gwen, Captain Marvel, She Hulk, and Squiral Girl in the ads. I can't wait!!

What were your thoughts on the Civil War box? Were you hoping for other characters in the film to be the POP exclusives? Were you happy with it all being about Captain America and Iron Man?

Have a great weekend!
